LongAP Pro is an outdoor LoRa-gateway that allows you to serve different IoT networks including the Helium Network. It’s designed for professional operation with a durable housing, reliable hardware and extensive management support.
LongAP Pro fully supports Helium once delivered, including earning for proof-of-coverage (Witnesses, Beacons). It will function as a Helium hotspot.
LongAP Pro can be connected to the internet via ethernet or 4G/LTE. It does not support WiFi. We are looking at supplying a WiFi-upgrade-kit for the Ethernet option.
LongAP Pro can only be powered via power-over-ethernet (PoE+ / 802.3at / 25W). A power supply is not included.
LongAP Pro will be supported by our management-dashboard that allows for secure and easy installation by using a remote onboarding procedure. The (possibly 3rd-party) installer only has to provide power by connecting the hotspot with a standard network-cable to a standardized power-over-ethernet power-supply. Onboarding and location-assertions will be handled remotely by using the 4G modem and GPS localization. The dashboard also allows for configuration and monitoring.
4G/LTE internet sharing
LongAP Pro features an unique additional ethernet port that allows it’s 4G/LTE internet to be shared with other devices. Additionally LongAP Pro will come with an affordable data-plan that can be enabled/disabled and upgraded from the same management-dashboard.
LongAP Pro will be sold with an optional solar-battery-power-supply that uses one or more solar-panels and a 12V battery. Combined with the 4G modem, this allows it to work fully off-grid and independent. The same power-supply can also be used in battery-only operation as a uninterruptible power-supply for high-availability.
Different antenna options
LongAP Pro will be sold with an optional 3 dBi or 6 dBi pole-mount LoRa antenna in addition to the 3 dBi chassis-mount antenna to support different installation options and to increase reception. The management-dashboard will allow for selecting the connected antenna and will adjust the transmission power of the LoRa module to comply with local regulations.
